I mostly go camping to sit in nature, have zero cellphone service, eat good food that’s been cooked over a fire, and maybe take a stroll through the forest. The Little Crater Lake campgrounds are right off the Pacific Crest Trail; that means Tuesday afternoon was spoken for.
We hiked south, for less than a mile to get to the tip of Timothy Lake. Taking a wrong turn, we ended up by the water and lazily wandered along until we walked back.
After a six mile hike, sticking your toes in a 34 degree lake is always the right decision.
